Bowls (game)
The is no Bowling green within the village. The village boule team is a group of enthusiasts who meet during the summer months. New members welcome - contact Des Bates

There are a number of Bridleways within the Parish

The Registrar for Burials is Lydia Knott, Clerk to the Council. - Please contact her for the appropriate prodedure and fees for burial or ash plots. Plots may be purchased in advance.

The Council believes these to be of a good standard. Please notify the Clerk if any damage is noticed.

Car parks
The car parks in the village are privately owned by the Bradgate Park Trust. There are no public car parks.

The Churchyard is now closed for burials but Ashes may be interrred by prior arrangement with the Rector. The Village Cemetery is on Groby Lane and the flower beds have recently been planted by the Village Gardening Club at the expense of the Parish Council. Further information from the Clerk.

Clocks
The main clock in the village is that on All Saints Church Steeple.

Community centres
There are no Halls for hire for public use within the village. The Village Hall may be hired by village organizations and the Sunday School likewise may be hired from All Saints District Church Council.

A large proportion of the village lies within a Conservation area which has to be taken into account when Planning Applications are made. 54 of the houses are Grade II listed buildings.

Country parks
The Bradgate Park lies within the village. It is maintained by the Trust for the benefit of the citizens of Leicestershire.

Crime prevention
Every house automatically belongs to the Village Neighbourhood Watch Group without the payment of any fee. The NHW is part of the Parish Council and it works very closely with the local Beat Police.

Disabled parking
There is no disabled parking provisions in the village

Dog litter bins
These are the responsibility of the Charnwood Borough Council.

Events are arranged by many of the organizations in the village. These can be found in the monthly village magazine on or on the Leicestershire Villages site.

There are a number of public footpaths within the curtilege of the village. The Ramblers walk them regularly to check them out. Please report anything untoward to the Clerk or the Neighbourhood Watch Team.

Halls for hire
There are no Halls for hire for public use within the village. The Village Hall may be hired by village organizations and the Sunday School likewise may be hired from All Saints District Church Council.

The Parish Council has provided a number of these throughout the village. Their style is in keeping with their surrounding area. Please report anything untoward

There is not a village local history society but much has been written particularly by local historian, the late Joan Stevenson. Her books can be purchased from Kairos Press. see their site on the web or links to it from our village websites.

Markets
The nearest Market Town is Loughborough on Thursdays and Saturdays. There is also a small market at Beaumont Leys.

Parking
There are no public car parks within the village. Parking bays are marked on the Main Street with time limitations on them. Most of the Main Street has yellow lines one side of the road.

Parks and gardens
There is no open gardens event this year. The details for the Scarecrow Weekend in September will be announced later in the year.

Public conveniences
These have now been closed by the Charnwood Borough Council. There are public conveniences within the Bradgate Park during opening hours

Sports grounds
The Newtown Linford Cricket Club Ground is on the Main Street opposite Groby Lane. The Tennis Club Courts are also on that site. Both of these clubs are private but welcome new members.
