Sgt Rich Matlock(1540)says

P. C. Steve Rhodes 0544 says The Beat comprises Rothley, Swithland, Newtown Linford, Cropston and Thurcaston. As P.C. Rhodes says on the Leics. Constabulory Site - the villages are mainly residential and the beat is also home to the popular Bradgate Park and Swithland Woods.

It also has ten public houses, four schools and various shops and businesses.
